A Possible Triptych
Yesterday evening I was preparing this board to start another one of my series with tissue paper but I didn't prime the board this time and just used some careless acrylic strokes, to have something under the tissue paper. Looking at the unprimed board reminded me that it takes ink squirts nicely, so I got out my black, red and yellow ink. Actually this was all going under the tissue paper. When I carelessly squirted the black ink, in organic forms, I realized the result was not bad so I waited until today to cover with tissue paper or not. Now I believe I will try to paint two other similar ones and make a triptych. Technorati Tags:Yellow, triptych, tissue paper, ink

Mariana, what is the size of this. I really like it. Also, would look great as a triptych
Thank you Paula, I forgot to mention it.. It is 16X16!
Mary, this is wonderful. A nice size also, I think.
Hi Mary - this looks great, and very Oriental!
I notice that a lot of American artists talk about painting on 'boards' ... what sort of material are these boards made of?
I also read people talking of 'masonite' .. could you tell me what that is also?
Anyway this will make a great triptych .. what size were you thinking of for that?
Thank you Robin! I just noticed that it looks like a painter with a black painter's cap with a cigar in his mouth or a paint brush and he is resting on a sort of puff chair. He is all red and in profile.
Lesley, thank you! I was think of painting two others of the same size. 16x16 but keeping a space between them.
What a great idea! I can't wait to see what you decide to do. Do you treat the tissue paper beforehand? I did some collages with tissue paper a few years ago where I painted the tissue paper and then added acrylic glaze medium. When the pages dried, they were transparent.
Thank you, Cynthia! Sometimes I paint what will be under the tissue paper so that when I paste it with acrylic medium it will show through. If the paint has not dired it will seep through and that also causes a nice effect.
Ha,ha Robin! Yes Mam, I will do!
