I am still doing pastel color studies for the cloth on my grisaille but I think I like doing cloth now. I was quite pleased with the gold look on the base of the candle.

Very, very pretty Mary. You have captured the reflective quality of the gold surface beautifully. I also am enjoying the richness you are creating in the fabric. Good to know you are enjoying it.
I live in Mexico and dedicate myself to my family, art and life. This blog is about my artistic passions, satisfactions and frustrations, from the moment I started in this search to where I believe I am today.

Thank you Robin, your comment is important to me. :)
Just right up my alley the bluesy/purple look. Very nice on the candle and base.
The gold is so realistic Mary. Very lovely. I love the fabric, it looks quite touchable.
looks just like gold, Mary! Bravo!
Thank you Jeanne, Jeanette and Billie for your visit and your comment. I enjoyed this one and I hope to work on another tomorrow.
The colors are lovely. I look forward to seeing your next study. Patience seems necessary when working with pastels.
I think you caught the reflective quality of the surface very well and the lushness of the cloth.
Juana, thank you for your visit. Yest I am learning pastel does require quite a bit of patience.
Sue, thank you! This color hopefully, will work as one of the ones on the grisaille
Delicious richness here. Love your use of fabric - going to head out myself now to buy some for future still lifes!
